Rothamel Bratton Participates in Solana Doylestown’s Virtual Dementia Tour

Recently our Elder Care Coordinator, Lauren Jochym, had the unique opportunity to participate in the “Virtual Dementia Tour®,” hosted by Solana Doylestown in Warminster, PA. The attached article details some of the participant’s reactions and experiences from that day, including our Elder Care Coordinator, Lauren. After reading their reactions, you can feel their emotion and the effect it had by simply taking 8 minutes to “walk in the shoes of someone with dementia.”

When a loved one is diagnosed with dementia, if effects everyone, friends and family, and you truly do not understand how they feel, their behavior, or really be able to provide the care they need unless you have walked in their shoes. The Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT®), an international program developed by PK Beville, M.S. and founder of Second Wind Dreams®, helps those caring for someone with dementia to identify with and understand their behavior.

After our own staff experienced how unforgettable the tour is, we instantly wanted to provide our clients and community with the tool and education they need to be more empathic, better caregivers and gain a more personal connection to their loved ones.

Which makes us thrilled to announce that starting this summer, we will be launching the Virtual Dementia Tour® to our clients and community.

We are in the process of finishing training and developing our event schedule but look forward to sharing details soon! In the meantime, if you would like more information or to put your name on the tour list, please email Jamie.bratton@rothamelbratton.com .
